We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body though pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body.

In the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, the manual he gave his students he says, "I suddenly realized that I have received healing power when I felt the air in mysterious way during fasting. So I have a hard time explaining exactly even I am the founder. Scholars and men of intelligence have been studying this phenomenon but modern science can’t solve it.

Reiki cannot be grasped with the mind, it can only be known in the doing and being of it. When you "do" Reiki, it is not so much in the "doing" as it is a state of BEING. In doing Reiki you are in the moment of oneness that Usui shared.

Reiki can be used on Adults, Children, Animals, and Plants. People generally like receiving Reiki and report that it is a relaxing and stress relieving process. A normal Reiki Treatment takes about 45 minutes to an hour to do. With children and animals it generally goes much faster.

The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.

Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
The real method of Reiki Treatment is hands-on treatment. The client lies on a table/bed fully loose clothed. I do treatment at my residence-cum-clinic in a separate room which is quite & calm with soothing music. I place hands on the body of the patient on various positions, beginning from head to feet, front & back. The treatment is conducted with respect for body privacy, there is no "inappropriate touching". The length of one sitting may vary, but generally takes about 45 minutes to an hour and normally 21 days treatment is recommended.
Reiki Treatment is not merely just for the illness or injuries but it can help to maintain and enhance health. It can be used for stress relief, for relaxation. It can benefit at four different levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
